1. Introduction

The Journal of Management Strategies and Innovation (JMSI) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers—must adhere to ethical principles to ensure the integrity and credibility of scholarly research.


2. Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to JMSI must ensure the following:

Originality & Plagiarism

  • Submitted work must be original and unpublished.
  • Proper citation of all sources using APA (7th edition) referencing style.
  • JMSI strictly prohibits plagiarism (manuscripts are screened using Turnitin, and similarity must be below 20%).

Authorship & Contributions

  • All listed authors must have made significant contributions to the research.
  • The corresponding author must ensure all co-authors agree on the final version of the manuscript.
  • Ghostwriting and guest authorship are unethical and not permitted.

Data Accuracy & Integrity

  • Authors must provide accurate data and avoid fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting.
  • Raw data should be made available for verification upon request.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Submissions

  • Manuscripts must not be submitted to multiple journals simultaneously.
  • Previously published work cannot be resubmitted unless it is a significant extension with proper acknowledgment.

Conflict of Interest Disclosure

  • Authors must disclose any financial, personal, or institutional conflicts of interest that could influence the research.

Ethical Research Conduct

  • Studies involving human subjects must comply with ethical standards and institutional approvals.
  • Ethical clearance details must be mentioned in the manuscript.

3. Responsibilities of Editors

The editorial team of JMSI ensures:

Fair & Transparent Review

  • Manuscripts are assessed based on academic merit only (without bias related to race, gender, religion, or affiliation).
  • Double-blind peer review is followed to maintain neutrality and confidentiality.

Confidentiality & Integrity

  • Editors must not disclose any manuscript details outside the review process.
  • Editors cannot use unpublished materials from submitted manuscripts for personal research.

Decision-Making

  • The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on reviewer feedback and journal standards.
  • Editors must withdraw from handling manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists.

4. Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers play a critical role in ensuring publication quality and must adhere to:

Objectivity & Constructive Feedback

  • Reviews should be fair, professional, and constructive, avoiding personal criticism.
  • Suggestions should help improve the manuscript.

Confidentiality & Non-Disclosure

  • Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential.
  • No information from the manuscript should be used for personal research.

Plagiarism & Ethical Violations

  • Reviewers must report any suspected plagiarism, duplication, or ethical misconduct.

Timely Review Process

  • Reviews should be completed within the given deadline (usually 4-6 weeks).

5. Responsibilities of the Publisher

JMSI's publisher ensures:

Publication Integrity

  • Ensuring that editorial decisions are independent and free from commercial influence.
  • Maintaining archival records for published research.

Handling Ethical Complaints

  • JMSI follows COPE-recommended procedures for handling ethical concerns, including corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern.

Open Access Policy

  • JMSI publishes under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, ensuring free and global access to research.

6. Handling of Ethical Violations

JMSI follows a strict process for handling ethical breaches:

1️⃣ Plagiarism or Data Falsification

  • Immediate rejection or retraction of published work if proven.
  • Notification to the author's institution and funding body.

2️⃣ Undisclosed Conflicts of Interest

  • Authors may be asked to provide corrections or clarifications.

3️⃣ Duplicate or Redundant Publications

  • Manuscripts found to be submitted elsewhere simultaneously will be blacklisted.

4️⃣ Misconduct in Peer Review

  • Reviewers found violating confidentiality will be removed from the reviewer panel.

7. Retraction Policy

JMSI follows COPE guidelines for article retractions and corrections in cases of:
