Peer Reviewer Process
Journal of Management Strategies and Innovation (JMSI)
1. Overview of the Peer Review Process
The Journal of Management Strategies and Innovation (JMSI) follows a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, credibility, and integrity of published research. This process ensures that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to maintain objectivity and fairness.
The review process consists of the following key stages:
- Initial Screening (Desk Review)
- Double-Blind Peer Review
- Editorial Decision
- Revisions and Final Decision
- Production & Publication
2. Step-by-Step Review Process
Step 1: Submission & Initial Screening (Desk Review)
- All submitted manuscripts are screened by the Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board.
- Manuscripts are checked for scope, originality, formatting compliance, and plagiarism (Turnitin is used; maximum similarity allowed is 20%).
- If the manuscript does not meet basic quality standards or journal scope, it will be desk-rejected or returned for revision.
Step 2: Double-Blind Peer Review
- Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to two independent reviewers based on their expertise.
- Reviewers assess the manuscript based on:
✅ Originality & Contribution – Novelty and significance of the study.
✅ Methodology – Research design, validity, and reliability.
✅ Clarity & Structure – Logical flow and coherence of the paper.
✅ Findings & Implications – Relevance of results and discussion.
✅ References & Citations – Proper use of references (APA 7th edition). - Reviewers provide detailed comments and recommendations within 4-6 weeks.
Step 3: Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers’ feedback, the Editor-in-Chief makes one of the following decisions:
???? Accept with Minor Revisions – Requires small corrections before acceptance.
???? Major Revisions Required – Needs substantial improvements before re-evaluation.
???? Reject & Resubmit – The paper is not acceptable in its current form but can be re-submitted after extensive revision.
???? Reject – The paper does not meet the journal’s standards and will not be reconsidered.
Step 4: Revisions & Final Decision
- Authors are given 2-4 weeks to revise their manuscript.
- The revised manuscript is reviewed again by the editor (and sometimes by the reviewers if necessary).
- The final decision is communicated to the authors.
Step 5: Production & Publication
- Accepted papers go through final formatting, DOI assignment, and proofing.
- The final version is published in open access format on the JMSI website.
