Abstract

Trademark registration is an essential aspect of intellectual property protection in Indonesia. However, many trademark owners experience delays in renewing trademarks whose registration periods have expired. This study aims to analyze the legal protection available to trademark owners who are late in renewing their registration, the role of the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP) in this process, and the impact on the legal rights of trademark owners. Using a normative juridical approach and literature review, the analysis shows that legal protection for trademark owners is very limited after the registration period expires.
