Peer Review Process
The Journal of Islamic Finance and Economics implements a double-blind peer review process. All submitted manuscripts will be evaluated through the following stages:

Initial Screening
The editorial team evaluates each submission to ensure alignment with the journal’s focus and scope, compliance with author guidelines, originality, and academic quality. Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements may be returned to the authors or rejected without external review. -
Double-Blind Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to two independent reviewers for a double-blind peer review. Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the process to maintain objectivity and fairness. -
Reviewer Evaluation
Reviewers assess the manuscript based on:-
originality and contribution to the field

theoretical and methodological rigor

clarity of analysis and argumentation

relevance and accuracy of references

organization, writing quality, and coherence
Reviewers may recommend:

acceptance

minor revisions

major revisions

Revision Process
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers’ comments and submit a revised version along with a response to reviewers document. The revised manuscript may be re-reviewed if necessary. -
Final Decision
The editor makes the final decision (accept, revise, or reject) based on the reviewer recommendations, the quality of revisions, and the overall contribution of the manuscript. -
Plagiarism Check
All accepted manuscripts must pass a plagiarism check using similarity-detection software. Manuscripts with excessive similarity may be rejected. -
Editing & Publication
Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, layout editing, and proofreading before publication.
The journal is committed to maintaining high ethical standards in the review process, following guidelines from COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).
