Abstract

Cooperatives are economic institutions based on the principles of solidarity and independence. In the context of rural areas, cooperatives play a significant role in promoting economic growth and community development. This study aims to analyze the contribution of cooperatives to improving the economy in rural areas. The method used in this study is qualitative, with data collection through interviews and observations. The results of the study indicate that cooperatives can promote economic growth in rural communities through various means, such as increasing income, welfare, and competitiveness. However, cooperatives also face several challenges, including limited resources and lack of community awareness about the importance of cooperatives. Therefore, more intensive efforts are needed to strengthen the role of cooperatives in improving the economy of rural communities.
