The development of e-commerce in Indonesia shows a rapid increase and is the main driver of the
growth of the national digital economy. However, behind these advances, there are still significant
challenges such as fraud risks, data leaks, and high transaction fees. This research aims to examine how
the integration of blockchain technology in the digital payment system can be a solution to these
problems. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature study, this study found that the
main characteristics of blockchain such as decentralization, smart contracts, and immutable ledgers are
able to improve security, transparency, and transaction efficiency in the e-commerce ecosystem. In
addition, the application of blockchain also has the potential to strengthen trust between sellers and
buyers, reduce dependence on third parties, and encourage the formation of an inclusive and sustainable
digital payment system. With the support of the growth of national digital transactions and the readiness
of technology infrastructure, blockchain integration is believed to be an important foundation for the
future of e-commerce and the transformation of Indonesia's digital economy that is safer, more efficient,
and competitive
