Halal economy is an economic system that integrates Islamic values comprehensively, not only ensuring that the products are halal, but also ensuring that every stage from production, marketing, distribution to consumer services is in accordance with sharia principles. The main basis includes the prohibition of usury, gharar, and maysir, along with the practice of Islamic morals such as honesty, trustworthiness, and social responsibility. These ethical foundations are derived from the Qur'an and hadith, which instill the values of fairness, transparency and legitimacy in economic transactions. Modern thinking, including the views of Syed Nawab Haider Naqvi, adds four key value bases: tawhid, justice, freedom of choice, and moral responsibility, which guide sharia-based business practices. In the realm of contemporary entrepreneurship, the halal economy offers vast opportunities - supported by rising global demand, government policies, and the application of digital technologies such as e-commerce, blockchain, and IoT to ensure supply chain transparency. However, there are still a number of challenges, including low understanding and access to halal certification, regulatory barriers, limited technological literacy, and differences in halal standards on the international stage. Therefore, there is a need for comprehensive collaboration between education, digitalization, certification, and product development so that the halal economy can grow sustainably, inclusively, and ethically.
