This study explores the social role of microfinance institutions in empowering the economic capacity of women engaged in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Utilizing a qualitative approach, the research employs in-depth interviews with women-led MSMEs that are clients of microfinance institutions. The findings reveal that these institutions not only provide financial access but also offer mentoring, training, and social support that collectively enhance women's economic resilience. This social role significantly contributes to increased self-confidence, independence, and business sustainability among women entrepreneurs. The study highlights the critical importance of strengthening the social function of microfinance institutions as key agents of women's economic empowerment.
