Abstract

This article discusses the application of Islamic values in modern economic activities through the concept of sharia business. Amidst rapid technological advances, various new transaction models such as online buying and selling, multi-level marketing, and online loans are increasingly emerging. Although the form of transactions has changed, the basic principles of Islam must remain the foundation of every economic activity. This article explains the importance of akad (agreement) that is in line with sharia, where every transaction must meet the principles of divine, justice, honesty, permissibility, and equality. Islam strictly prohibits detrimental practices, such as usury (interest), gharar (uncertainty), and maysir (gambling/speculation), to ensure justice for all parties involved. In addition, sharia business also emphasizes the importance of social responsibility, where business activities are not only focused on seeking profit, but also contribute positively to society and the environment. The application of sharia business principles aims to create a fair, transparent, and sustainable economic system amidst modern economic developments.
