Abstract

The 1945 Constitution, which obliges the state to protect the country, promote the general welfare, and participate in the establishment of world order, is the basis of the philosophy. philanthropy, which means generosity, and there are various forms of charity in different ethnicities and religions. Zakat, infaq, sadaqah, and waqf are types of charity in Islam. As commanded in the Qur'an, the state is responsible for managing zakat. This study looks at how philanthropic institutions play a role and face problems in managing zakat and waqf in Indonesia. Giving, serving, and cooperating to help others voluntarily is known as philanthropy. Zakat, shadaqah, infaq, and waqf are some types of Islamic philanthropy. Zakat is giving a portion of an asset that has met certain conditions to people who are entitled to the asset under certain conditions, while waqf is a charitable instrument based on the principles of kindness, friendliness, and brotherhood. Various problems faced by the management of zakat and waqf can affect how effective they are in improving welfare and economic growth. The main problem in zakat and waqf management is limited management capacity and lack of clarity. Regulatory issues are also a big problem. This research uses a normative juridical approach, which collects data through literature review, government documents, electronic media, journals, and relevant books.
